THE EVOLUTION SERIES
Limited Edition print release
The original EVOLUTION plaster series began as a sculptural exploration inspired by patterns found throughout nature, from the formation of tree grain, rings and root systems to the structure and nodes of sea urchins.
Rather than reproducing the artworks through photography and traditional printing methods, I wanted to create something more. This led me back to lino carving, allowing me to reconnect with the physical process of carving line, shape and texture by hand.
Through this process, the signature EVOLUTION bas relief was reinterpreted and developed into blind embossed works on paper.
Over the years, a number of works from the series have become personal favourites and pieces that I continually found myself returning to. This embossed print collection brings together a selection of those works.
While the original plaster works remain at the heart of the EVOLUTION series, this embossed print collection extends that body of work into a new medium, carrying the same visual language, tactility and connection to nature while offering a refined and softer interpretation in paper form.
ABOUT THE COLLECTION
EDITIONS
Each design is released as a limited edition.
Every print is individually numbered and hand-signed.
Once an edition is sold out, no further prints of that design will be produced.
PAPER & PROCESS
Embossed on premium archival cotton paper selected for its ability to hold detail, depth and surface texture.
Each artwork is created using a custom-carved embossing lino plate, allowing the signature EVOLUTION linework and beading to be pressed into the paper and revealed through light rather than ink.
FRAMING
Works are framed in a selected timber finish to complement the nature of the embossed artwork while allowing the texture and detail of the embossed print to remain the focal point.
