THE EMBOSSED SERIES
The EVOLUTION embossed print collection extends from the original sculptural plaster series, which was inspired by nature throughout. From the formation of tree grain, rings and root systems to the structure and nodes of sea urchins. Rather than simply reproducing these works through photography and traditional printing, I wanted to create something that retained their tactile quality and movement. Returning to lino carving allowed me to reconnect with the physical process of carving line and texture by hand, reinterpreting the signature EVOLUTION plaster bas relief into a blind embossed work on paper.
This print collection brings together a selection of my favourite works from the original series. Pieces I have continually returned to over the years. Each design has been carefully carved and pressed into paper, allowing the artwork to be revealed through depth, light and shadow. While the original plaster works remain at the heart of EVOLUTION, this collection extends the series into a new medium, retaining the same visual language, tactility, and connection to nature while offering a softer, more intimate interpretation in paper form.
PAPER SELECTION
Embossed on premium archival Somerset Satin 250gsm cotton paper.
Selected for its beautiful textured surface resembling the original plaster EVOLUTION series and its ability to hold the detail and depth of the embossing process.
CARVING
Each artwork is created using a custom-carved embossing lino plate, allowing the signature EVOLUTION linework and beading to be pressed into the paper and revealed through light rather than ink.
EDITIONS
Each design is released as a limited edition.

Every print is individually numbered and hand-signed.
Once an edition is sold out, no further prints of that design will be produced.
FRAMING
Works are framed in a selected timber finish to complement the nature of the embossed artwork while allowing the texture and detail of the embossed print to remain the focal point.
